Dog age calculator
Pick your dog's breed and enter its age for a human-year equivalent based on size, not the outdated multiply by 7 rule.
Why size matters
Dogs do not age on a single curve
The first two years count for the most. After that, toy and small dogs usually age more slowly than large and giant breeds.
A one-year-old Chihuahua and a one-year-old Great Dane are both young adults, but they are not the same life stage in human terms. Our model maps the first two years month by month, then applies a yearly factor based on size group. For a full table by size, see the dog age chart, or browse breed guides.
